先生：ジョニー、世界中で一番役に立つ動物は何だと思ってるか？
Teacher: Johnny, which animal do you think is the most useful animal in the world?
ジョニー：鶏と思っています。なぜというと、鶏は生れる前でも、死んだ後でも食べられますから。
Johnny : I think it's the chicken, because you can eat them before they're born and you can also eat them after they're dead.

血液循環     
Blood circulation

従業で先生が血液循環について教えていた。     
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood.     
もっとわかりやすく説明するため、先生がそう言った。     
"今、僕が逆立つとすると、思われてる通り、血液が頭に下がって来て、僕の顔は赤くなるよ     
Trying to make the matter clearer,      
he said, "Now, boys, if I stood on my head the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I should turn red in the face."     
生徒たち：その通りです。     
Yes, sir, the boys said.     
先生：じゃ、どうして僕がいつもの通りにまっすぐ立っているけど、血液が足に下がっていかないんだろうね？     
Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position, the blood doesn't run into my feet?     
一人の生徒：先生の頭より足が空っぽじゃないからです。     
A little fellow shouted, "Because your feet aren't empty."

アルツハイマー病
老人が掛り付けの医者を訪ねた。全身チェックをしてまらった後、医者がそう言った。
医者：いいニュースと悪いニュースがあります。どちらを最初に聞きたいですか？
老人：そうだね。先ず悪いニュースを聞かせてもらおうか
医者：あなたは癌に掛っています。あと二年持つかどうか、といった状況です。

老人：それはひどい。後二年しかないのか！この後に、一体どんなことをいいニュースとして伝えるつもりかね 
 医者：あなたはアルツハイマー病にも掛っています。そう言うことで、後三ヶ月ぐらい経てあなたに伝えたことは全て忘れるようになるでしょう。 
Alzheimer disease
An old man visits his doctor and after thorough examination the doctor tells him: "I have good news and bad news, what would you like to hear first?"
Patient: "Well, give me the bad news first."
Doctor: "You have cancer, I estimate that you have about two years left."
Patient: "OH NO! That's awful! In two years my life will be over! What kind of good news could you probably tell me, after this???"
Doctor: "You also have Alzheimer's. In about three months you are going to forget everything I told you."
